Description:
I'm only getting acquainted to sections :)
///
as I see, text under a heading is a "section"...
although section means a distinct thing in Writer
///
it'd be great to have a right click menu option
when clicked on a heading:
"select this section" or: "select all under this heading" (to avoid ambiguity)
when editing text,
the user oftentimes finds her/himself
trying to select all the text under a heading...
which his not so easy if that section exceeds several pages...like 5-6
cause in that case, you can easily select another section, too...
(seriously :))
selection is already an intelligent thing, allowing users to select word,
sentence, paragraph...
selecting an entire section would be just the logical next step :)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. try to select ALL text under a heading...
2.
3.
Actual Results:
you have to place the cursor at the beginning...
scroll to the end of the desired selection zone, while pressing shift,
and click again...
Expected Results:
you could be able to right click on heading and choose "select ALL text under
this heading"... (which would include text under smaller level, higher number,
headings, too, like heading 3 and 4 under a "heading 2")
and that would be it...
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I make this suggestion under a title "SECTIONS" enhancements cause, as I see
it, these are all about "sections", since text under a heading is a section,
too (or is there another term for that?)
