zip of example Impress file showing the described problems
Summary:
Creating slide pages with images that have animations. When the images are
"replaced", using the right-click or context menu item, the animations are
lost.
This can result is lost effort since it may be that the slide is duplicates to
preserve the animations and the images are designed to be replaced on
successive slides. Also, copying images between slides should preserve the
animations on the images.
In addition, when replacing images in this way, there needs to be a way to set
the image boundaries to the ASPECT of the new image. The Original Size option
is not convenient since the image may be very much larger than the slide so
this requires a lot of zooming out and resizing of the new images.
Steps to reproduce:
1 - create a simple slide show with a single slide and some images with
animations.
2 - Duplicate the slide and note that the animations are duplicated with the
images.
3 - Duplicate the slide again.
4 - rclick on an image and "replace" it with another image with a different
aspect.
5 - Note the animations are lost for the replaced image.
6 - note that there is no easy way to fit the new image to the slide with its
correct aspect. "Original Size" does not satisfy this need if the image is very
much larger - say 2000x1000 than the slide.
See attached annotated example impress file.
