I don't use gedit, but I do regularly use another two GTK+3 based text editors:

Geany -- <a href="https://geany.org/">https://geany.org/</a>

Bluefish -- <a href="http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/index.html">http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/index.html</a>

The Bluefish GUI resmbles LO very close;y.

There are no problems with either of these editors.</pre>
