Thanks a lot! I don't think making it possible to have the same document open twice is important. Showing a proper message is IMHO enough, my proposal would go in the following direction: "The chosen document is already open and it's not possible to open it twice. However duplicating the file and open a copy of the file is possible so you can copy & paste parts of the document."
