<pre>The problem perhaps arises from the incorrect setting of the fractions.
In the menu there is no way to disable it, because it only allows you to choose
between horizontal and diagonal fractions.
Evidently, when I type a number, Writer erroneously expects it to be always the
numerator of a fraction.</pre>
