Apart from the question whether text actually needs to be perfectly vertically
centered:
You're taking a close look at the tab containing the text "Home", which has no
letters that reach "below the baseline" (there is certainly a more correct
typographic term...).
What does that comparison look like if you choose the "Layout" tab for example,
which has the letter "y" in it which reaches further down? With my plain eye,
it seems like it should be pretty much "perfectly vertically aligned" then, but
I did not make any measurements...</pre>
