        <pre>Description:
Overall there is a latency involved with every operation in Impress.  Click on
an object.... wait.   Click on a slide on the slide display.... wait.  etc.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Click on anything.
2.  Try to do anything.
3.

Actual Results:
VERY slow.

Expected Results:
I run both Powerpoint (latest version) and Impress (latest stable version).
Everything in impress is slower than powerpoint in the sense that there is a
latency to every interaction with the GUI.  Click on something and it takes a
few moments for the GUI to react.  File save/open are much slower too.  This
also makes some tools unstable to use.  For example, select the Text Box tool
and sometimes it's so slow that it doesn't let you draw out a box or if it
does, the box disappears later.

The best description I can give you is a comparison between something written
in BASIC on a Commodore 64 vs. Assembly Language on a C64.  BASIC is very slow
by comparison.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No
