arbitrary links. So when using such for the index, the only problem I see is
automatically updating those.
So what would be needed is a kind of flag that says the link had been created
automatically, and maybe what procedure was responsible for creating it.
However if the link's target is a symbolic reference (with a constant name), a
manual update of such links seems not necessary to me (as it's done
"automagically" then).</pre>
