So for OP, if your sample <span class=""><a href="http://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=162279" name="attach_162279" title="LO Draw file containing 2 slides, one with a transparency.">attachment 162279</a> <a href="http://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=162279&action=edit" title="LO Draw file containing 2 slides, one with a transparency.">[details]</a></span> is an indicator of how you have
been doing your layouts, why are you not placing the cover text with
transparency into a layer of its own?
When I do so, moving the Draw Text box, and rectangular shapes into a new
layer. Setting Z-order with an Arrangement action, so Text box is on top of its
backing shape and the base image is on the bottom--I get correct transparency
of just the title backing.
So, is it a simple layering issue?</pre>
