Not even here? (See attached image) To do the format switch one needs to go to
Slide -> Properties... Why not making it more intuitive and quick and let the
user decide that before starting to draft their presentation?

I get it, but I think the templates that LO features by default should be the
most useful ones currently available, so that they are just ready to use
without forcing the user search for alternative ones elsewhere. At least,
that's my opinion.</pre>
