Does not mean, I would not remove shift) > A <Ctrl>+click multi-select is not universal, look at multi-select for any graphics/CAD based project, and the text/graphics widgets of any X11 based GUI. I would argue, that graphics (I guess your referring to something like GIMP?) and CAD are no major software. So they don't add up to a "general external consistency" - or at least not enough. I'd also like to emphasize, that also LO Writer and LO calc follow the "Ctrl+click => multiselect" feature for Text and cells.
