When I select paste, the characters are rendered correctly in the dialogue.
They are rendered incorrectly as soon as I change the setting to UTF-8.
The file copied from _is_ UTF-8, and if I paste the same clipboard into an
empty file, the 'file' command tells me it's a UTF-8 file. My editor's
defaults are UTF-8 and my locale is UTF-8. I should be able to tell
LibreOffice to do everything in UTF-8 and not have to re-select every time.
UTF-16 wastes space unless I am doing Chinese (which I haven't done for a
year).</pre>
