The documents can be opened and the password removed by using a different
office suite. This was sccessfully tested with OpenOffice 4.1.7 and a recent
version of Microsoft Office.
People may not like this suggestion out of ideological considerations, which I
understand, but it was pretty helpful for me and may help others as well to
access their work.</pre>
