But that being said, I think what is wanted here is for an easy way to turn on the "Hidden Text" option under Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - Formatting Aids. Why the option has to be hidden so well is beyond my comprehension. IMO all the display options listed there should be also put in a sub-menu under the View menu so that the settings can be easily found and changed at the current document level.
