<pre>It's not random at all and those two buttons (and almost all other color
buttons on toolbar) are designed to work that way.
The left part of the button, with icon, will apply the last color used when
clicked. The right part, with a downward arrow, will expand the dropdown menu
when clicked. And many other buttons on toolbar have this "more choices"
dropdown menu indicated by the downward arrow.
Closing as NOTABUG. If you don't see this arrow on your buttons or they don't
