<pre>Copying an entire cell should be considered to be to copying an entire
paragraph. They are logically equivalent.
Paste-special allows pasting as unformatted text, which strips away all of the
extra formatting and context like paragraph - and thus does what you want it to
do. Or, as Xisco said, if you just want to copy the character contents of a
cell you can do that from the input line, or copying the characters from a
double-clicked cell.
The current behaviour certainly is not wrong, and the requested behaviour is
not more correct. There are several alternative methods to achieve the
requested behaviour.</pre>
