Thanks for having a look - cannot test with all versions of macOS, so I just
hope that the new patch will work independent of any user settings and on all
supported versions of macOS.. patch prepared with that changed here:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/112385
Would appreciate if people watching this bug could fill in their findings with
versions of macOS not listed yet for the following command:
mdls --name kMDItemFSName /path/to/LibreOffice.app
It should report »kMDItemFSName = "LibreOffice.app"« (no directories, and .app
extension independent of the "show file extensions" setting in finder.
tested good:
10.11 (comment from SveDoc)
10.14 (myself)
10.16/11 (myself)
Please comment with your results if you can test on a different version or (and
especially in that case) if you get a different result. Feel free to include
additional confirmation for ones listed by other users, but no need for
comments that don't add new versions of macOS to that list.
