Simple reproducer example
Let's turn this into something actionable...
The original file has an m4a sound file, which is difficult to play on Windows
(see <a class="bz_bug_link
bz_status_NEW "
title="NEW - MP4 videos aren't handled in Windows (without additional codecs)"
href="show_bug.cgi?id=62408">bug 62408</a>), but here something else must be going on, considering the
confirmation from Debian.
Turns out the original example uses a PP feature on the Carmina Burana clip, to
shorten the played part.
When applying that Trim feature on a simple wav file that can be played even on
Windows, Impress does not recognize the media file as one so does not play it
at all.
Impress cannot trim multimedia files yet, but maybe we could transform this
setting to effect duration setting.</pre>
