[Libreoffice-qa] New tracking bug for important bugs related to the Mac OS X Accessibility API

Hi all,

I have created a new Meta issue/tracking bug:

   https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55571
“[Task] Tracking bug for important bugs related to the Mac OS X
   Accessibility API”

This means, for crashes and hangs in LibreOffice for Mac OS X which
become manifest *only* if

a) some option in Apple’s “Universal Access” preferences pane is
activated, e.g. “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive
    devices”; and/or
b) if some utility/extension/control panel/… is activated/running
which relies on Apple’s Mac OS X Accessibility API; this applies to
many window management and other UI utilities, like BetterSnapTool,
BetterTouchTool, Cinch, LazyMouse, Moom, RightZoom … to mention only
    some popular examples.

Background: For a long time, we used bug bug 47368 -- “Many crashes when
accessibility enabled on MacOS X” -- as some kind of informal task bug
for such issues. Now the confusing bug 47368 is fixed and closed, and in
addition Tor Lillqvist has fixed two remaining accessibility-related issues.

After that I thought first we would not need any new task/tracking bug
at all. But then I reproduced yet another accessibility-related issue
(54923) which may have some duplicates, and there are still some similar
bugs in NEEDINFO status, and (let’s be realistic) very probably more bug
reports are coming.

Therefore it seemed advisable to create a new, clean meta issue to keep
track both of fixed and of open bugs in this area, because these
hard-to-reproduce problems can cause much confusion for bug wranglers
and users (and developers?), so that clarity and transparency is very
important here.

Hope it helps,

     Roman
