This is the usual process - tag is created, people doing the
release-builds start the builds and upload to the pre-release location
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases
This as you write is usually completed within 24hours (maybe not for
the full builds, but Linux and Mac (intel) are available during the
night/early next day.

And this is where I start to think that I might have missed an
announcement. As I was doing the builds, I didn't send the mail to
early-testing list immediately, but only today, after all builds were
available on pre-releases.

Do you want that mail immediately after the builds start uploading, or
do you even want an additional mail to the QA-List besides
announcement of the tag?

That of course was unfortunate, and even more reason to have this tested.

So please state what you were missing this time / what you wish for,
and I'll add that to my checklist.
