The problem is how the Query Design dialog runs the query. What I
discovered is that if I opened the query to edit it in Design view that
I got an error message: "SQL syntax error". When I opened either query
in SQL view and clicked the icon that has SQL in it ("Run SQL command
directly"), I could run the query correctly. The Balance column then
contained the same values as when I ran the query using LO 3.6.5.2.
I also added comments similar to these in the bug report.
