I have tested today's build for the 4.0 branch
Version 4.0.0.1+ (Build ID: fa16c2d432c6054edd2dede556876f5455b7e26)
and the crash I reported is indeed fixed.

Unfortunately I can confirm that the data is not imported (user data,
preferences, recent files, extensions, etc.). I think this is an important
issue.

Also background in Abstract Yellow and Lush Green templates is ruined

And there is an important regressions compared to LOdev:  Letter and Fax
Wizards stopped working
