At least half of those bug reports are resolved, marked as duplicates
of other bugs, or otherwise appear as though they may be out of date.
Have you confirmed your SMTP connection failure under the latest
builds of the 4.1 or 4.2 release branches?

Apologies for my confusion here: What's the relationship between "The
mail merge wizard can not be used on LibreOffice 4.1/4.2 (the SMTP
connection always fails)" and your desire to "save each document with
a specific name" ?

Which bug? Have you tested the problem under LO 4.2.3?

Specific details help us to narrow-in on the particular problem and
fix it more quickly :-)
