Hi guys,

Sorry that I haven't followed-up recently on my bug, but with the
release of the Android Viewer, it fell into my lap again:
"Bug 77091 - [UI] Add about page showing full version #, license,
authors, etc..."
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77091

To recap, there was previous discussion of the About box here:
http://www.mail-archive.com/libreoffice-ux-advise%40lists.freedesktop.org/msg02320.html

Astron had some good points. If I may build on them:

* It's easiest to have the version in-app, and we shouldn't assume
that people use the Google Play store to determine the app version

* Installed under CyanogenMOD, I don't see any branding about
LibreOffice, except under the Settings -> Apps -> App info, and no
mention of TDF

* Contributors deserve credits

* Most troubling, no mention of the MPL

To quote Astron:
> + Can anybody help with whether we need licensing information? (The
> remote is apparently licensed under MPL2, not LGPL, so not sure that
> is necessary.)

Artur Dryomov responds:
> Nope, I believe it is not. Required information mentioned at source code
> headers. Mentioning libraries is just a nice touch and because of that I
> intentionally added this screen.

Here's what the MPL 2.0 FAQ has to say:

---
Q10: I want to distribute (outside my organization) an executable
program based on MPL-licensed source code that I have modified. What
do I have to do?

You must make available the MPL-licensed portions of the source code
as described in the previous question, and inform the recipients how
they can obtain such source code (Section 3.2).
---

I think the easiest way for us to comply with that part of the MPL is
to have an About screen similar to what's in the LibreOffice Viewer
right now.

Best,
--R
