(Optional) ellipsis would be a possible solution (e.g. "Income de...") for 
text. Complete content is usually shown in tooltips. Microsoft Excel hides grid
lines (and borders if possible) for text and "diamonds out" large numbers (e.g.
"#####" for "1234.56789"). But I prefer the small triangular identifier in red
that LO uses for long numbers, perhaps as well with ellipsis.
