--- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote <vstuart.foote at utsa.edu> ---
Yes this facet of font management needs additional attention.

Each of the UI elements presenting fonts--the Formatting toolbar, the Character
content panel of the SideBar Properties deck, and the new Font Name drop down
list on the Notebook Bar--would benefit from a UI selectable filter "mode" for
fonts.

Currently the list is always the full list of installed system fonts. This is
tedious to work with and being able to filter it down seems useful.

Perhaps three filter modes:

1. default (all system fonts)

2. all fonts used in default or custom styles

3. fonts used in by styles current document

4. user selected preferred fonts

5. fonts used in current document + user selected preferred fonts

The user selected fonts would need a UI for selection--probably a panel added
to the Tools -> Options -> Fonts dialog with check-box selection to offer in
the UI. And would need to be recorded into the user profile--guess
registrymodifications.xcu rather than config.
