Sorry, cannot confirm a solution.

It is still the same behavior (no effect when selecting the Checkbox "fit to
frame" in textbox-properties).

It is still working like in comment #49 mentioned (ctrl + shift + F8) - but no
influence when using the dialog.

Linux Mint 18, LibreOffice 5.2.0.2
