s/higher/taller ?

Redesigning button widgets and menus of the general UI for touch screen has
little functional application in this cross platform project.

Its not impossible, especially as we have GUI work for the Android viewer
flavor and the LibreOffice Online port.

But supporting touch in the general case would probably be best handled as a
MUFFIN mode via the Notebook bar.
