Following Stuart here, vertical alignment in terms of top/center/bottom is
restricted to tables and frames (link html is). These two methods are well
suited and more than a workaround.

If we talk about vertical _distribution_ and in particular 'spacing' things are
rather handled with Draw where the feature is built.in.
