And also it the document had grid visible when saved.

More complicated even.
Grid is set to invisible in Options. And the file you open does have grid
visible. Now open options, tick Visible and the settings are applied
immediately,

But Resolution and Subdivision are used to change the actual view of an
document too.
So a good topic to think about a clear and usable solution.
