We discussed the topic in the design meeting. While a couple of options are
feasible such as take all settings from the search dialog (bad usability as
Eike pointed out), provide a dedicated set of options (unclear what is actually
set, question whether to remember or not) the workflow is to quickly find one
or more places without considering special cases. That's up for the search
dialog and the quick find toolbar should remain simple (we should rather remove
the Whole words only option than adding more). So the verdict is WF.
Same decision has been made for bug 125282 or bug 129469, for example. We
should make the ctrl+H search and the ctrl+F find functionality completely
independent (see bug 115665). And the request to unify the two options in bug
129783 is also rejected therefore.
