We discussed the topic in the design meeting, actually focusing on bug 113606.
This "highlight the current selection" would be a fall-out from switching from
add to toggle (currently you add the clicked border configuration), but not for
free. While the other ticket is easy to solve it might be not so simple to
analyze the cell selection.
