Ah, I misinterpreted the short description in comment 0.


The current behavior is intended and a change would cause countless bug reports
to bring back the old status.

I'm with Andreas. The behavior should not be changed as it's logical that all
white space or transparent space should be filled with text with 'contour'.
That's the sense of it.

Where should be drawn the line? For example, between the arrows in the test
file there is space. Is this space part of the 'outer' border of the image? How
big should this space be to be not part of the border for the contour? A change
seems not intuitive and a hell for devs.


Therefore I close this issue as Notabug.
