Yes, the draw shapes can be <Shift> multi-selected and can then be aligned. So,
seems feasible to be able to also distribute the selection equidistant vertical
or horizontal.  Not sure anything more complex would be needed.

That is the work flow would be to position one shape where the distribution
would start, another where the distribution would end. Then multi-select. Then
distribute the selected shapes equidistant across the vertical or the
horizontal distance between the start and the end shape.

Given special nature of Draw shapes (not really frame'd), don't know this would
have to address more general work needed for aligning frames as for bug 95171
