The same happens with data in a row, for instance 1,2,3 in A1:A3. (Me always
expected the "skip empty cells" to have this result.)

I agree with Larsen in comment 1, it would be more consistent to have the exact
same result as in the source. Eike, is there any reason for the current
behavior?
