Paste an image without its formatting attributes can already be archived by
either
Edit->Cut\Copy->Edit->Paste Special->Paste Special...
 or Right Click->Cut\Copy->Right Click->Paste Special->More Options

Unfortunately, there isn't any option to keep the file type yet.
