Agree with Dieter. If we add this information it has to go into the rework for
bug 123083. But could you please tell us why this information is needed?
Something like "If I change only a few characters after Save I don't want to
overwrite the intermediate state because the text might not be relevant. But
once I have entered about 100 words it needs to be saved as I'm afraid of
loosing work." Please also explain what "new data" means. Are changes to the
formatting not worth to save?

Please keep in mind that simplicity is prime. We show changes binary meaning
the icon is different, the statusbar has an information, and the titlebar too
if you change the document.
