May I respectfully disagree?
A writer application must be simple, logical and straightforward. Meaning, any
cell in a table must be accessible by default; not through any workaround. 
It would be a huge frustration to the average user (maybe not to me) to search
a knowledge base to find out how to fill an empty cell in a table.
