Yes, I would say that too. IIANM, this agrees with my phrasing in comment 6.

I prefer the approach I and Regima have put forward; but I can't really fault
this one. It's not bad, but not the most intuitive to me. I mean, suppose I
click that pilcrow. Where will the cursor be placed? Where will a character I
then type be placed?
