--- Comment #3 from Rafael Lima <rafael.palma.lima at gmail.com> ---
We currently have two main cases here.

1) When "All applications" is selected in the "Filter" dropdown menu:

In this case, if any template is set for any type of documents, than the
"Manage" menu allows to "Reset All Default Templates".

It would make some sense to have a "Set as Default XXX Document" (where XXX is
Text, Presentation, Spreadsheet...) in the "Manage" dropdown menu based on the
type of the selected template.

2) When a specific document type is selected in the "Filter" dropdown menu:

When you right-click a template and then choose "Set as Default", the "Reset
Default XXX" will become available in the "Manage" menu.

Here we could have the "Set as Default" as well in the "Manage" menu.

----------

However, I think the current implementation is discoverable enough. I believe
it is natural for users who want to set a template as default to right-click it
and expect to see a "Set as default" option, which we currently offer.

Therefore, adding this option to the "Manage" menu wouldn't make the "Set as
Default" feature more discoverable, so it might not be worth the effort.

Moreover, having to right-click a template to set it as default clearly shows
to the user which template will be set as default. As for resetting the default
template, it makes sense to have this option in the "Manage" menu since it'll
be applied to the entire document type. This is more convenient to the user.

In summary, implementing this feature wouldn't hurt consistency. But it might
not be worth the effort because it doesn't bring much benefit.
