We discussed the topic in the design meeting.

My idea in comment 5 to make a raster graphic like PNG the default in all
modules was supported. 

But others recommend to use PDF as standard with the idea that Export As (> PDF
| EPUB) is just a shortcut to the filter in Export and not listing them would
make them special and different.

So we are split in what exactly the solution should be. There is probably no
harm in any of the two options but the benefit of consistency.
