I'm guessing you mean Ctrl+Shift+Space?
Anyway, that would be a workaround, but
1. I don't want to use formatting characters.
2. I don't want to manually handle this issue in dozens or hundreds of places
where my character style is used; this is something which I should be able to
enforce using the style.
