Personally, I find the triangle marker of Heiko's patch for 7.6 and trunk to be
much more visually appealing, and functional, than previous non-scaling square.
-1 for reversion.

Rather than focusing on how to improve/change the marker, seems what is needed
is a convenient way to toggle the marker hidden -- an UNO action to assign to
menu, context menu or the most likely keyboard assignment.

Current Show Hide comments or notes does not affect the marker.

Avoid any need to zoom to visualize partially obscured text or digits.
