You could switch the language to None and all spell-checking is gone. Perhaps
not document wide but via character style on the actual word.

The context menu for unknown words provides quick access to Ignore and Add to
Dictionary. Adding the unknown "mgh" as a valid word is to me the same as
adding it to a special "exclude" dictionary.

Admittedly it would be nice if one could switch easily between dictionaries.
There are some requests in this direction.
