Showing an information like 

Version 7.5.4.2... 
You are on the latest version, find <a>nightly builds here</a>
(maybe pointing to developer versions is too much)

and

Version 7.4.3... 
The latest public version is <a>7.5.4.2</a>

sounds reasonable. But I wonder if we should add the link to TDF since the
application might be installed via app store, package manager keeping it
intentionally "stable", or provided from a third party.
