Use case:  I maintain a database with member addresses.  For some of those
members their address includes a street address, a building name, and an
apartment number.  One address line gets to be very long, so I break it apart
by using a user-defined field.  It does work, but it's not intuitive.  
If there is no interest in making this change, I can work with what I have.
