I think that:

1. On all the screenshots, the overlapping icons scale exactly the same amount
as the icons on the left pane.
2. I made the icons show the *same* stable size, not scale *randomly*; but
IIRC, it was Heiko who chosen those icons, so my work only fixed the
implementation of the original design.

It should be now trivial to decide and use smaller icons if wanted; or focus on
proper thumbnail scaling, if deemed proper.
