We discussed the topic in the design meeting.

Besides all concerns raised in the comments it is a functionality users know
from Excel: paste "Formulas and number formats" or alternatively "Values and
number formats" [1]. Since we allow to select values and/or formulas the option
needs to be a checkbox under "Options" labeled "[ ] Number format" disabled if
"[x] Format" is checked (and otherwise allowing to overwrite the target number
format).
