And to be more specific regarding UX:

* The vast majority of users rarely protect and unprotect cells.
* In fact, most users probably _never_ protect or unprotect any cells, ever,
and may not have even taken the time to understand what that means.
* As the user, I want to delete _these_ cells, that I've selected. WTF is the
deal with "for unprotected cells"? Is LibreOffice sending its lawyer to talk to
me? If these cells are protected and can't be deleted, why isn't this grayed
out? And if they aren't protected, why is the app adding fine print to the
command name? "Delete cells, maybe, under certain conditions, and some of them,
possibly." Ugh.
