No objection to make the arrow point into the correct direction. Low priority
though.
Note that the arrow points to the left if the cursor is at the last line and
more content is above the current view.
The calculation is wrong, and "hello \n bye" clears the right-ward pointing
arrow if the first line is fully visible. This is much more relevant, IMO.
